A little planning before moving day can save you time, money, and unnecessary stress. Portland moves can come with limited street parking, apartment rules, elevators, stairs, long carries, steep driveways, traffic, and, of course, unpredictable weather. Knowing what to expect ahead of time helps us plan the right crew and makes moving day run much more smoothly.

Tell us as much as you can about both locations before moving day. Photos of stairs, parking areas, large furniture, or difficult entrances can help us better understand your move before the crew arrives.

If street parking is limited, check where the moving truck can legally park before moving day. Downtown Portland and some neighborhoods may require additional planning or a temporary street-use permit.

Ask your building about elevator reservations, loading areas, approved moving hours, and whether they require a certificate of insurance before your move.

Stairs aren't the only thing that can add time. Long hallways, gated entrances, steep driveways, and distance between the truck and your door can all affect a move. Letting us know ahead of time helps us plan accordingly.

Rain doesn't necessarily stop moving day, but preparation helps. Keep walkways clear, let us know about slippery or difficult entrances, and make sure anything you're packing yourself is properly closed and protected.
